Persons with Disability
The Skill Council for Persons with Disability (SCPWD) addresses the unique vocational training needs of persons with disabilities (PwDs) in India. With 2.68 crore persons reporting disabilities in the Census, inclusive skilling is a social and economic imperative. SCPWD develops accessible Qualification Packs that enable PwDs to participate meaningfully in the formal economy.
Sector Overview
SCPWD programmes are designed with universal design principles—accessible curriculum, assistive technology, sign language interpretation and reasonable accommodations. Sectors covered include IT/BPO, handicrafts, retail, banking, healthcare support, and customer service. Major corporates with 3%+ PwD employee mandates actively partner with SCPWD for talent pipeline development.
