Electrical

The Electrical sector encompasses the generation, distribution and utilisation of electrical energy across residential, commercial and industrial settings. From wiring domestic premises to maintaining high-voltage transmission lines, electrical professionals play a critical role in keeping modern infrastructure operational. India's rapid urbanisation and the push for 24×7 power to all households has created an unprecedented demand for skilled electricians and electrical engineers.

Sector Overview

Electrical workers install, maintain and repair wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, generators and control systems. The sector is governed by the Electricity Act, 2003 and the Central Electricity Authority regulations, which prescribe safety standards and licensing requirements. Smart-city initiatives and the EV (electric vehicle) revolution are creating new sub-disciplines such as BMS (Building Management Systems), solar PV installation, and EV charging infrastructure.
